O'Brien's on the lower level

Downstairs at the track, the lower level holds O'Brien's Social Bar & Kitchen, a casual bar and restaurant. Its name honours PEI resident Joe O'Brien, a horseman in the Hall of Fame. Hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday through Wednesday. On Thursday through Saturday the kitchen keeps going longer, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Kensington Road desk suggests a look at redshores.ca for holiday hours.

Reservations go through the phone only, at 902-620-4264. You cannot request a booking online, so call if you want a table held.

Red's and the 14-foot screen

Red's serves Italian-inspired comfort food in front of a 14-foot screen. From Sunday to Wednesday it opens at 4 p.m. and closes at 10 p.m. Thursday to Saturday the hours stretch from 11 a.m. to midnight.

Top of the Park, above the oval

Top of the Park is a three-tier dining room looking out over the historic track. It serves a Sunday brunch and a race-night buffet. Diners can bet on the horses right from their table. The Trackside Patio is outdoor dining right beside the racetrack. Its hours are not posted either. The same number can tell you whether it is serving on the evening you have in mind.
